Soundcrank Launches Beta 1 of Soundcrank.com
New Music Site Gives Listeners a Voice
Cedar Hills – September 29, 2006 – Soundcrank today officically launched the first
beta of soundcrank.com. The new music site is dedicated to the improvement of the digital music experience. It's uniquely focused on providing users with the tools
they need to express their music tastes. The site allows users to create a "My Music" page where they can review albums, blog about music, recommend music to friends,
and create lists of their favorite artists,
albums, and songs. The site works with the Soundcrank iTunes Plug-in to display their listening habits. This allows users with similar tastes to connect with each
other and helps them find new music.
"Users don’t need giant corporations deciding what they listen to," said Ben Hodson,
Soundcrank's CEO. "They need a system that accommodates their
individual tastes, regardless of how diverse. Getting recommendations from friends
is the best way
for users to find music they will actually like."
"The music experience isn't passive," said Brent Barnett, co-founder of Soundcrank. "It requires listeners to be actively involved. Users have an important
role in shaping the music experience. Soundcrank.com provides users with the tools
to make this possible."
About Soundcrank – What makes Soundcrank different? Soundcrank was started because
of frustration with the digital music experience. The digital music
world of MP3s and iPods provided unprecedented convenience and flexibility but something
was missing. In the move from physical to digital only formats something was lost.
After thoughtful examination of the digital music experience Soundcrank realized there
had to be a better way! Soundcrank found that better way, and are excited to
invite users to join Soundcrank and re-discover the digital music experience.
