Soundcrank Releases Beta 1 of iTunes Plug-in
Plug-in Expands Digital Music Experience with Enhanced Track Information
Cedar Hills – October 9, 2006 – Soundcrank today announced the public beta of their iTunes plug-in software for the Windows platform. The plug-in, scheduled for full release in 2007, expands the digital music experience with enhanced track information such as lyrics, album artwork, and album credits. It also tracks what songs users listen to most frequently and uses that information to provide users with a highly personalized experience. Windows-based iTunes users now have the opportunity to assist with the development of the plug-in by testing the new beta release and submitting feedback to Soundcrank at beta@souncrank.com.

"Music is more than an MP3," said Ben Hodson, Soundcrank's CEO. "With physical formats we had album artwork, lyrics, and credits. The digital format should include those same items. While listening to music users should have easy access to content about the music they are listening to."

"Beta testing is critical for two reasons," said Brent Barnett, Soundcrank co-founder. "First, it allows us to fix any obvious bugs in the software, but more importantly it allows us to gather feedback from users about functionality and features they want to see in future releases."

About Soundcrank – What makes Soundcrank different? Soundcrank was started because of frustration with the digital music experience. The digital music world of MP3s and iPods provided unprecedented convenience and flexibility but something was missing. In the move from physical to digital only formats something was lost. After thoughtful examination of the digital music experience Soundcrank realized there had to be a better way! Soundcrank found that better way, and are excited to invite users to join Soundcrank and re-discover the digital music experience. .
